Hiwatt leeds 50R combo
Great amp. Marshall like distortion channel and beautiful clean channel. Well built but inexpensive. An overdrive pedal in front of it is heavenly for lead tone. Very nice reverb. Tempted to make this my new gig amp.

Hiwatt leeds 50R combo
I am very impressed with the sound and build quality, especially for such an inexpensive amp. I will likely play gigs with this amp and leave my tube Marshalls at home. The amp has Marshall like distortion without getting muddy and it tolerates an overdrive pedal in front better than my tube amps. It is well built in China with a particle board cabinet which explains why the price is so reasonable. There is nothing wrong with particle board cabinetry despite what purists say. Hiwatt has replaced the Speakon output connector with dual 1/4 inch connectors and moved the spring reverb unit to be inside of the amp chassis. All of my pedal board effects sound good thru this amp. Just ordered a TUKI cover for it and plan to rehearse and gig with it. Happy camper.
