Product Description
Swamp Dog Parlor
The RM-993 takes everything that makes the Swamp Dog one of Recording King's most beloved metal-body resonators and puts it into a parlor-size body — smaller, lighter, more portable, and with a voice that's distinctly its own. The same custom hand-spun 9.5" cone used in the full-size Swamp Dog sits inside the parlor brass body, which means almost nothing is compromised in terms of volume or projection.
Thanks to the smaller body size and 24-1/4" scale length, the Swamp Dog Parlor has a different voice than other metal body instruments. It has all the swampiness and midrange of a classic biscuit-style metal body, but the unique design adds more treble shimmer, for extra top-end clarity. It's punchier and more focused, with a top-end cut that makes it particularly responsive to a slide or fingerpick. Players who find full-size resonators physically unwieldy will discover that nothing meaningful is left behind in the smaller format.
A mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and a hard maple biscuit bridge with ebony and maple saddle give it a playing feel that's immediately comfortable, with the V neck profile adding a vintage personality that suits the instrument's character perfectly.
