The RK-R36-BR shares the same professional-grade foundation as the R35: the same Pre-war classic-style bell brass cast tone ring, the same one-piece flange, the same steam-bent 3-ply maple rim. But swap maple for mahogany throughout the resonator and neck, and something shifts. Mahogany runs warmer, deeper, with a little more body in the low mids.

The mahogany neck carries an adjustable two-way truss rod and a comfortable rosewood fretboard, and the 24-hook brass tension hoop gives you the kind of precise head adjustment you'd expect on any serious instrument. Planetary tuners, geared 5th peg, dual coordinator rods, and a black peghead overlay with mother-of-pearl Seagull inlay complete a build that looks and plays with quiet confidence.

The mahogany resonator wears a brown gloss finish that's richer and more lustrous than the matte of the R35, giving the R36 a slightly more formal presence on stage or in the studio. For players who prefer their tone round and full over bright and punchy — this is the one.
