Product Description
Where the RR-50-VS roundneck lets you play in any position, the RR-60-VS is built exclusively for lap playing. It's the sound of early country blues, of Hawaiian slack key, of Appalachian gospel and Chicago bottleneck. The squareneck neck profile raises the strings high off the fretboard, making conventional fretting impossible and slide playing effortless. The tone it produces in return is something a roundneck simply can't replicate. Bigger, more open, more resonant.
Crafted entirely from mahogany with a parallelogram soundwell and 12-fret neck joint, the RR-60-VS shares the same professional-grade foundation as its roundneck sibling. The hand-spun Recording King cone is one of the best in the business for delivering true, loud resonator tone — and in the squareneck configuration, that cone has even more room to breathe. A bone nut and maple/ebony saddle give it great sustain, while Grover tuning machines make smooth work of switching between your favourite open tunings.
Classic rounded soundhole screens and slotted screws complete a build that looks as authentic as it sounds, and the vintage sunburst finish makes it a genuinely beautiful instrument to have in your hands — or on your lap.
