Product Description
Swamp Dog Style-O Resonator
The aged green patina finish of the RM-997-VG is oxidised like it's been played on a swampy porch for years — and crucially, it's not paint. The wonderfully oxidised green patina has been aged to perfection, with unique splotches and spots across the body that lend authentic vintage character. No two Swamp Dogs look exactly alike.
Underneath that patina is a serious instrument. The bell brass body rings with sustain and produces a great, voluminous mid range. A 9.5" European hand-spun aluminium cone provides the volume and projection that mass-produced cones can't match, driving sound through the body with the immediacy and authority that defines the metal-body resonator tradition. A chickenfoot coverplate completes a visual identity that looks like it was pulled from a 1930s photograph.
The hardware is chosen carefully. Grover open-gear tuners, a bone nut, and a hard maple biscuit bridge with ebony and maple saddle give the Swamp Dog a playing experience that matches its visual character. A mahogany neck with a comfortable C profile makes it as easy to pick up and play as any modern instrument, while the satin brown neck finish adds to the sense that this guitar has always been exactly this way.
