Modeled after the original pre-war resonator guitars, the Recording King Style-O is one of the foremost metal-body guitars on the market. The round-body silhouette is one of the most recognizable in all of acoustic music, and the RM-998-D delivers it with the authenticity the design demands.

A 9.5" hand-spun European Recording King cone sits at the center of the instrument, producing the raw, immediate single-cone resonator voice that defined the Delta blues sound. Where the tricone RM-991 spreads its energy across three cones for warmth and complexity, the Style-O concentrates everything through one, and the result is drier, more aggressive, and more cutting.

The nickel-plated bell brass body delivers incredible projection and classic resonator tone, while the chickenfoot coverplate — the three-pronged design that gives the RM-998-D its visual identity — is lifted directly from the pre-war originals. A Honduran mahogany neck, padauk fretboard with M.O.P. dot inlays, hard maple bridge with ebony and maple saddle, and nickel-plated tuners complete a build that's as serious about playability as it is about tone.
